Can I just be a mermaid??

I have a new favorite day 2 hair  do.
To geth this hairstyle just before bed I dampened my hair with a spray bottle and brushed out any tangles. I then used about a  quarter sized amount of the Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Geltastic Gel that I received in my Spring VoxBox from Influenster and scrunched it throughout my hair. I then put my hair in a bun and slept in it overnight. In the morning I took the bun out and ran my fingers through my hair to separate the curls and then I used a bit of dry shampoo to get rid of any extra oils. I used just a tiny bit more of the gel to smooth out any fly aways and any pieces I felt needed a little more shape I wound around my finger to help curl them a bit more and went on my way.

Overall I really liked the Gel. My hair didn't look super crunchy when it dried. Which in my book is always a plus. And I only had to use a little bit of product.
My hair did feel a little gross by the end of the day however it's been really super hot and getting a little sweaty throughout the day is pretty much unnavoidable here so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

I really love this hairstyle. It's easy to do and it looks kinda messy which I love. Plus it's heatless curls. YAY! :P The only thing I'm missing now is mint mermaid hair...Sounds silly but this hair color has made my bucket list. THIS MUST HAPPEN lol.
Thanks for checking out my hairstyle. What's one of your favorite summer hairstyles?

I was sent this product for review purposes by Influenster.

Rag Doll Look

Sadly i didn't film how i achieved this look, had i though my camera would've most likely run out of memory less than half way through. but here is a quick overview of how i achieved this look.

I started out by moisturizing my face with Aveeno Daily mosturizer and letting that set for about 15 min before i got started with everything.
After my moisturizer sat for awhile i used a white eyeliner to map out my "patches" this was just kind of a random process. i will say it would be a lot easier if you have a general idea of what kind of patterns you want to do i did not lol so my patterns just kind of came to me as i was going along. Then I used Mehron clown white lite makeup in all of the patches that i new i wanted a white backround on and set the white using baby powder (and smelled as fresh as a baby's bottom ;P) All of the other patches were done using my Mehron Basic and Pastel Palettes. This look definitely could be achieved using shadows if thats all that you have using the mehron just definitely cuts down on time and i feel like it gives me the ability to have cleaner lines. Then i layed down all of my backround colors and let them dry, once they were dry I went in with the patterns.
Also just a little side note even though i used white on my lips and i laid down all of my white patches first i left that until the very last thing because the Mehron can be pretty drying on your lips, and i also lick my lips without knowing a lot and i didn't want to have to do it over lol because i would've almost without a doubt have smeared the black everywhere. Thats about it. I'd suggest that if you do have a matching eyeshadow to set the colors with to definitely do that especially if you're going to wear the look for a  long period. Then for my normal eye I just used my Physician's Formula Eyeliner pen and did a thick wing. and while i had my eyeliner out  i outlined each patch with it and put little x's throughout each line to look like stiching. I also used some jewelry wire and twisted it to look like string sticking out in a few places  (which sadly you can barely seen in pictures) and attached that with lash glue. Then put on some Cover Girl Lash blast mascara and added top and bottom lashes and that finished the look. Top lashes are bow lashes from StellaStarish Cosmetics, and my lowers are Ardell Demi Pixie lashes.
Thats about it. I hope this helps i'll try to get something figured out with my camera so i can film a tutorial for this. I'm defintely going to need to figure something out especially when it comes time for halloween looks :)

Silver Bells

The Christmas spirit has finally hit me this year. It seems as I've gotten older I don't get into the holiday's as much as I did when I was younger. Now that my niece and nephew are at that age where their little faces light up at this time of year it gives me something to look forward to. I was having dinner at my mom's last night and she was buzzing around the kitchen sing "Silver Bells" in her "lovely" voice lol and it's been stuck in my head ever since. I have a feeling that may be the only Christmas song my momma knows lol she's been singing it since my brother and I were kids and I don't really remember her singing a lot of other Christmas songs. I remember it used to bug me when she'd sing it when I was younger but now it makes me laugh and miss being a kid. Anyway...since it's been stuck in my head I got home and pulled out every silver glittery pigment I own (i think) and created a "Silver Bells" inspired look. Here's how to get it:

  • I first used my Urban Decay primer potion

  • next I used the silver from the Make Up Forever Flash Pallete as a base

    • Next I used a light glittery blue with silver undertones called My French Boyfriend from Simply Kendra Cosmetics.  starting a little past my inner corner I angled it out toward my outer corner

    •  In my crease I used Time Square a gorgeous dark silver packed with shimmer from Tick:Tock Cosmetics

    • Then to darken up the outer corner I added a dark silvery grey from the Urban Decay's15th Anniversary Pallette called Ace

    • And then this look need more sparkle of course lol so I as my highlight I used Lila's Light Year from StellaStarish Cosmetics, a gorgeous white LOADED with sparkly greatness lol
    • I also added more glittery funness with another color from StellaStarish called Mercury, I used this color wet as my liner mixed with a bit of glitter called GlamRock from Inaz Cosmetics. (I was in a very sparkly mood if you can tell lol)

I hope you enjoyed this first blog post/tutorial of mine and I apolgize for the sad picture quality hopefully santa will bring me a better camera for christmas. Let me know if there are any other christmas songs you'd like to see a look based off of. :) Happy Holidays
